Distinct Advantages of a Careful Advisory Practice
Sinar Compass offers something that most AI providers do not: the willingness to tell you honestly whether AI is the right step, delivered through written work that stays with you long after the engagement ends.
← Back to HomeWhat Sets Our Work Apart
Audit-First Approach
We examine your organisation's information practices before recommending anything. This means any suggestion we make is grounded in what we have actually observed, not what we assume to be typical.
- Four-week structured examination
- Written report with all findings
- Recommendations without obligation
Everything in Writing
Findings, recommendations, and built capabilities all come with documentation. Nothing is left to memory or oral agreement. Your team can reference, share, and act on the work independently.
- Audit reports you own entirely
- Technical documentation per build
- Quarterly written assessments
No Pressure to Continue
Each of our three services is designed to stand on its own. We will not use the audit as a gateway to push a build. We are equally satisfied if the work we deliver is the only engagement we have with your organisation.
- Self-contained service design
- No sales pathway between services
- Honest advice including "not now"
Integrates With What You Have
Our build engagements work with the tools your organisation already uses. There is no requirement to purchase new software or migrate to a different platform before we can begin.
- Assessment of existing tool landscape
- Integration rather than replacement
- Reduced switching costs
Staff Are Left Capable
A build engagement is not complete when the capability is running. It is complete when your staff can operate it without us. We include structured handovers and light orientation as a standard part of every build.
- Structured handover session
- Plain-language operating guide
- Staff orientation included
Predictable Timelines
We structure our services around fixed timeframes: four weeks for an audit, six to eight weeks for a build, quarterly for reviews. You will know at the outset when work will be delivered.
- Fixed-duration engagements
- Clear scope before starting
- Minimal disruption to operations
A Closer Look at Each Advantage
Expertise Grounded in Practice
The Sinar Compass team brings experience from information management, operations consulting, and education administration — fields where the gap between technology capability and actual daily use is well understood. We are not approaching AI from a purely technical standpoint; we approach it from a working knowledge of how organisations in Malaysia manage their information and where constraints typically sit.
This means our Storehouse Audits tend to surface issues that standard technology assessments miss — not because our methods are sophisticated, but because we are looking at the right things.
A Process Designed for Caution
The sequence of our services is not accidental. The audit is first because it provides the information needed to make any subsequent decision well. The build is focused and limited in scope — one cabinet, not many — because organisations that try to implement too much at once tend to end up with things that work partially and are used inconsistently.
The quarterly review is last because it exists for organisations who have already integrated something and want to maintain it with outside perspective. Each service occupies a different stage of readiness.
Attentive Client Engagement
We take on a limited number of clients at any given time. This is a deliberate choice. It means that when we are engaged with your organisation, we have sufficient time to pay attention properly — to follow up on what was said in an interview, to read the documentation carefully, to write a report that reflects what was actually found rather than what is typically found.
Enquiries receive a response within one working day, and we are accessible throughout any active engagement.
Transparent, Fixed Pricing
Our services are priced at fixed rates: RM 1,540 for the Storehouse Audit, RM 1,310 for the Single-cabinet Build, and RM 740 per quarter for the Quiet Review Service. There are no variable fees, no retainer minimums, and no charges for the documentation and handover that come with each engagement.
Any potential third-party costs — such as API usage from external platforms used in a build — are identified and discussed during the solution design phase before any work begins.

Qualities You Won't Find Elsewhere
We Will Recommend Against Ourselves
If a Storehouse Audit concludes that AI integration is not suitable for your organisation at this time, we will say so in writing. We do not adjust findings to justify further engagement.
Deliberately Limited Scope
The Single-cabinet Build delivers one capability. This is not a limitation — it is a design choice. Organisations who attempt too many integrations at once often end up with none working well.
Outside Perspective, Quarterly
The Quiet Review Service provides an external vantage point that internal teams cannot provide for themselves — without the overhead of a consulting engagement or the cost of a full-time advisor.
Documentation in Plain Language
Every written deliverable is designed to be read by operational staff, not only by IT. We avoid technical language where plain language serves better, because the people who act on our work are not always technical.
